Why they bothered making a Remake of a Jap Horror movie that wasnt that great in the first place? touchstone.movies.go.com/main.html?dlink=darkwaterSick of them making remakes... why cant they just Dub WITHOUT EDITING AND CUTTING AND BUTCHERING the movies? *sigh* At least I'm pleased with the US Aragami release, no cuts, average dub... but still has original language with subs so it's cool!

I have known there was going to be a remake of Dark Water for some time! I actually enjoyed the original though I don't really class it as a horror film....I think it's just a really sad story! Which obviously is where the US remake is really going tofall down, this isn't a film with a happy ending and one thing hollywood doesn't seem to like is an unhappy ending! I really can't imagine what kind of mess they're going to make of this one:(
When are the bloody americans going to start making their own films and stop remaking films that really don't need remaking!
I agree completely about your sentiments on the Dub! My Dad would like to see a lot of the Asian cinema but he's dyslexic so I do support the need for Dubbed versions of these films, however they need to be dubbed respectfully (the dubbing on Versus which I specifically bought from the US for my Dad is absolutely appauling), prefferably by English (or whatever) speaking people from the original countries in order to keep the feeling of the films the same, they also need to be more careful to keep plots & the tone of said films as original as possible! With the DVD format there is no reason at all that they can't give people a genuine choice on sub or dub. Well...apart from they clearly don't want to because they then wouldn't have such an easy job of selling poorly made remakes to people who don't like to or can't watch subbed films!
Wankers!

They're even planning on remaking the adverts before the movie.
HOT NEWS REMAKE. Apparently they're remaking the 'Wizard of Oz' with George Michael as Dorothy. The theme song is 'Swallow my yellow thick load'
