Ok time for another list/favourites thread. This time the theme is 'Films you love that everyone else seems to ignore'. Obscure or overlooked gems that you think the world should see....
My three
1) THE FALL GUY- Brilliant, brilliant Fukasaku comedy drama about a nice-but-dim stuntman and an ego maniac samurai movie star.
2) DORA HEITA- Kon Ichikawas samurai film about a playboy town magistrate cleaning up his new fief in his own way. Nice to see a film about Samurai that isn;t about them killing each other all the time.
3) ONIBI- Superb character study of yakuza hitman, and his attempt to build a new life after rotting in the nick for god knows how long.

Hi guys and gals, I'm new here but thought I should chip in.
Not that they are asian movies but I believe they fit into the surreal and 'extreme' themes that seem so popular...
The films by Alejandro Jodorowsky and especially 'Santa Sangre', one of my all time favourites. El Topo and Holy Mountain are good too. Theyr'e not new either, tho.
